Leading London architects, Mikhail Riches and their regeneration project; Goldsmith Street in Norwich, has been recognised as the Best New Building for 2019. The scheme has been recognised by the UK’s most prestigious architectural award, the RIBA Stirling Prize.

This groundbreaking project consists of 105 energy efficient ‘Passivhaus’ dwellings. It is the largest of this type of construction and is the first social housing project to be awarded the prize. Crest were able to make a major contribution to the stunning aesthetics and performance of the scheme with the creation of a bespoke blend of bricks for the project, the Crest Goldsmith Blend which captured the colours of the predominantly Victorian buildings nearby. The Crest design team provided a solution for the striking roof profile using Crest Nelskamp Black Gloss Clay Pantiles which included a specially made angled ridge profile to aid both build-ability and ensure a high quality finish.
